Employment Law 2014

Simple HR has an Employment Law Calendar which allows you to see at a glance the changes that are happening over the next year. There are many changes confirmed for 2014 and also many proposals being put forward to the Government for 2014 and beyond.

A quick excerpt for 2014:

          The small business regulation freeze is extended to businesses with fewer than 50 people.

All businesses, including charities, will receive an employment allowance of £2,000 per year towards their employer National Insurance contributions.

A new advisory service will be introduced in spring 2014, this will offer free occupational health assistance to not only employers but employees and GP’s.

The Children’s and Family Bill will bring many changes over 2014 and 2015 including extending the right to flexible working for all employees, parental leave extension to parents of all children under 18, shared parental leave to name but a few!

Changes to TUPE provisions are expected to come into force in January 2014 but all the changes have yet to be confirmed though it is hoped they will make the regulations less complex for businesses.
